What is a day in the life of a Head of Client Partnerships at Luneus like?

Here’s what recruitment life at Luneus looks like through Dan Claridge’s day: fast pace, big impact, and real flexibility.

To see what recruitment at Luneus is like in practice, we spent time with Dan Claridge, Head of Client Partnerships, learning what a typical day involves.

Dan joined Luneus in December 2025, bringing with him more than 15 years of recruitment experience. What started as a business development and solutions-focused role has evolved into leading client partnerships and delivery across the business. As Dan explains, “As the business need developed, I stepped more into a role of what I do now, which is running our delivery and ultimately fulfilling the obligations that we make to our clients.”

How does Dan Claridge start his day at Luneus?

Dan’s day always starts before the laptop opens. With three young children, his mornings are a whirlwind of school runs, packing lunch boxes, and negotiating who gets the last pancake a reminder that life at Luneus recognizes people have lives outside work, too.

He often checks emails before the day properly begins, scanning for urgent updates and opportunities to make a difference. By the time he sits at his desk, Dan’s already in focus mode, ready to set the day’s priorities.

How does a recruiter plan and prioritize their day?

Once the working day starts, the priority is to understand what is urgent and what needs unblocking.

Dan uses CRM to check live roles, vacancies, candidates, and process stages, then builds the day around the biggest priorities: client updates, candidate progress, team questions, and quick decisions.

Staying organized and adaptable is a big part of the role.

What does a recruiter do in the morning?

Because much of Luneus’ work focuses on the US market, UK mornings have a clear purpose: to prepare the pipeline before the market wakes up.

Dan sources, updates records, prepares résumé submissions, reviews live roles, and identifies the next people to contact. He sees sourcing as a key part of recruitment, and he creates momentum there.

LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and broader networks all come into play, creating opportunities before the afternoon turns into action.

What happens in the afternoon for a client partnerships recruiter?

By mid-afternoon, the office buzz kicks in as candidates return calls, clients fire over feedback, and interviews shift into high gear. The momentum is real.

As Head of Client Partnerships, Dan connects the client, the candidate, and the team, and he keeps progress moving, especially when someone is waiting for feedback, information, or a decision. Dan blends delivery, relationship management, and problem-solving in his role, which keeps it interesting.

What tools do recruiters use at Luneus?

Dan uses LinkedIn to source candidates, research companies, and spot opportunities. He uses JobAdder to keep the team organized and maintain visibility across roles, candidates, and process stages.

When Dan manages multiple searches across markets and time zones, he relies on visibility. He succeeds at a fast pace by backing it with structure.

How flexible is recruitment life at Luneus?

Dan is the first to admit he isn’t always the best example when it comes to taking lunch breaks.

“I tend to have most of my lunches at my desk,” he says.

Dan values flexibility most. Some days, he’ll grab a quick sandwich at his desk while catching up on a podcast. Other days, he ducks out early to collect his kids from school, then dives back in later, laptop open at the kitchen table.

How does Dan Claridge wrap up his working day?

Before finishing in the office, Dan checks which tasks remain open. He asks himself, what do I need to reply to? What does the team need from me? What could slow down a process tomorrow?

Because Luneus operates in the US market, Dan’s day doesn’t always end at 5 pm. Sometimes replies, feedback, and follow-ups arrive later, so Dan responds from home to keep things moving and ensure a productive workflow the next day.

Dan focuses on ownership rather than being online every second. He knows what matters, acts quickly, and keeps momentum, even if that sometimes means working after official office hours. “My workday sometimes ends when I leave the office. Sometimes it ends when I fall asleep on the sofa.”

What makes recruitment at Luneus rewarding and challenging?

When asked what makes recruitment both rewarding and challenging, Dan doesn’t hesitate. For him, it all comes down to people.

“We don’t really have a product. Our product is effectively a solution that we create, and that relies on other people.”

Unlike many other industries, recruitment isn’t a straightforward transaction. Every process involves people with different goals, motivations and circumstances, which means things can change at any moment.

You can do everything right: find the right candidate, match them with the role, and guide the process. Ultimately, the final decision sits with the client and candidate, which adds variety to the role and makes the wins even more rewarding.

Those wins are what make it all worthwhile. Dan has watched candidates land life-changing pay raises, bought their first homes, or finally felt secure after years of uncertainty. One call he’ll never forget: a candidate ringing to say his new salary meant he could finally buy an engagement ring. That’s the kind of impact that sticks with you.

Why should recruiters consider working at Luneus?

For anyone considering a career at Luneus, Dan’s day offers a pretty good snapshot of what to expect.

The work is fast-moving, the standards are high, and the decisions matter. Recruiters are trusted to build relationships, solve problems, and own outcomes.

For Dan, that’s what makes every day worth showing up: working with great clients, talented candidates, and a strong team, plus seeing first-hand how recruitment can change lives.
